Where river and forest meet

Tidal creeks. Mangrove silence.

The Sundarbans is a vast tidal mangrove landscape in south-western Bangladesh, formed by islands, rivers, creeks and the edge of the Bay of Bengal. A journey here is experienced mainly from the water, with guided stops at approved eco-tourism sites.

The Forest Department lists destinations including Karamjal, Harbaria, Katka, Kochikhali, Dublar Char and Hiron Point. The exact route depends on trip length, permits, vessel capability, tide, weather and current access; wildlife sightings are always natural and never guaranteed.

  • A landscape shaped by water

Travel through tidal channels and broad rivers with changing forest views throughout the day.

  • Approved guided visits

Use permitted routes and follow Forest Department, guide and security instructions at every stop.

  • Low-impact observation

Look for birds, deer, monkeys and other wildlife without feeding, chasing or disturbing them.
